My Last Posting

So, sites like Xanga and Facebook started out as a nice way to keep track of old friends as our lives went on different paths. Now it is nothing but a colossal network of gossip and a substitution for personal relationship and involvement. A lot has happened to me in the past few months: I've rekindled old beliefs, desires, values, and aspirations. Time to follow them. If you want to know anything about me or what's been going on, you probably already have my contact information or maybe you even see me sporadically. And with that, I bid you ado, and farewell Xanga ...

So I'm partway through massive homework. I'm catching up, getting done what needs to be done, and working on getting ahead. All in one night. I feel motivated in life again. For a while there, I really wasn't motivated with schoolwork whatsoever, even though it's all really easy. After weeks of thought and a some guidance, I feel like I have drive and purpose in life again. I know what I want to do in life and I've planned out how I am going to accomplish that. I know several people will question my motivations for choosing the path I've now chosen, but frankly, f*%# them. I know what drives me in life: I dare anyone to contradict that. Well, back to the homework. I still have lots to do, and tomorrow is going to be a very busy day followed by a very busy weekend.

So I've decided to stop being a rationalizing pansy and get down to business. I have tons to do, time to cut to it. Who needs sleep anyway? Highly overrated. That and I'm tired of not being in peak physical shape. Time to hit the pool everyday. Feel free to join. On a deeper note, I just don't feel like I'm good enough ... that I need to be better at everything ... so I'm cracking down the whip on myself ...

And so the week has begun yet again ... We lost again in flag football. We finally figured out how to play about 3/4 through the game. I feel like I have a somewhat better grip on what to do when playing football, and I actually did a couple things productive for the team. Me being me, the ultimate competitive perfectionist, I've been bugging the guys to practice with me and teach me strategy. I don't do something unless I work to be really good at it, so we'll see how I end up  by the end of the season.

I got to see my Holmes color guard girls perform at a competition this Saturday. I'm so very proud of them, and the prospect of starting a winter guard for them is looking promising. Sure, there's something about seeing your work unfold on the field, but I can't even describe the feeling of seeing these girls learn and grow over the past few months. I can't wait to continue working with them after the football season.

There's a lot going on emotionally for me right now, both bad and extremely good, but due to the very public nature of this journal posting, I will keep those to myself for now ...
